THE WHOLE MEGILLAH:
I should state that I’m not much of a fan of Ferio Tego, or its predecessor, Nat Sherman. The cigars seem to be aimed at the same group of smokers that like Room101. But I want to go into this review with high hopes because to release a cigar at this price point, you better deliver the goods.

Alrighty then, on with the review…

Amazon Music is on My Frequent Plays and starts with Blind Faith…”Can’t Find My Way Home.” Good omen.

Aromas find their way home to my schnoz and include baking spices, pumpkin pie spices, dark chocolate, black and red pepper, pronounced peanuts, rich tobacco earth, and vanilla ice cream.

I get to use my new PerfecPunch & Stand to surgically remove the cap. You’re missing out if you don’t enter the Perfec Cigar Solutions Contest Giveaway. It ends on Monday, July 3 at noon.

The cigar has some heft. I don’t have the lip strength to let it hang while I type. Men…55 years of providing cunnilingus will have its downside later in life. It’s like having a drinking problem in the film, “Airplane.”

The draw is wide open.

The first puffs are a bit salty. But there are those peanuts saturating my palate. Very creamy. Notes of malt, very rich balance so soon that I’m pleasantly surprised, vanilla bean, milk chocolate, espresso enters the arena, and just enough spice from black pepper to give the cigar the proper amount of oomph.

Strength is an immediate medium.

The burn takes its time. If the cigar shines, I have no issues with this speed of progress.

The cigar rests.

My 3-month-old Dell laptop crashed and burned. The blue screen of death. I had a tech come out. The hard drive was crispy. But he got me an expensive, but tiny, Dell laptop for a very reasonable price. But the thing drives me crazy trying to type and see the bloody screen. A friend sent me a gaming mouse and keyboard. And the tech showed up yesterday carrying a new Dell 20” monitor with a soundbar and a docking station. Gratis. Naturally, I loaded him up with cigars. Such nice people out there. I am eternally grateful. And it gives me hope for the human race. But then I’ve been blessed by so many kind people…all of whom are my readers.

1” in. 13 minutes burned.

The burn is wonky. Must fix it before it runs away.

A pleasant cigar but certainly no Jack Kennedy.

You’d think a Limited Edition touting 10 years would knock my teeth out from the start…especially at $18.50 per stick.

No real complexity. Transitions are minimal. The finish is shallow.
Bummer.

I’ve recently reviewed cigars at half this price that pulled the pin from the first quarter of an inch.

The blend reminds me of every Nat Sherman I’ve smoked. They have no soul. Are these cigars blended specifically for golfers…trying to cut into the Macanudo sales?

Strength remains at a dull medium.
Damn.

Saw “Easy Rider” in the theaters when it came out in 1969. Went on a double date. The girl I took had extremely rich parents. They owned the biggest home in Laguna Beach, sat on an outcropping high above the beach and was painted pink. She was gorgeous of course. Anyway, the entire audience had a group whiplash when Peter Fonda was shot at the end of the movie. Everyone got up in silence and left. We were young and naïve. The chick dumped me after a few dates. I was beneath her…and not in the good way.

2” burned. 30 minutes burned.

No real sign of complexity. Transitions act like their feet are stuck in concrete. The finish is nothing to laugh out loud about. Just an ordinary blend you can buy from any catalog store…but at half the price.

I really feel bad when I tell you that a cigar ain’t worth the placenta it was wrapped in. It’s no fun for me. Someone needs to bitch slap Herklots. This review ain’t going to be received well. So listen Michael, for such an educated man, you are making some dumb choices in blending. Smarten up, kid. Try attracting sophisticated smokers. I assume he likes his own blends.

The burn is dreadful.

The 4 industry reviews pretty much described the same lack of excitement. All had burn issues. Which means construction of the cigars was poor. The reviewers were kind to Herklots with their ratings…but not that kind. More of a polite tip of the hat but no raves heard.

Hope is held out for a second half revival.

Flavors are the same as it ever was: Creamy, peanuts, nutty, milk chocolate, espresso, malt, cedar, and a dab of cinnamon.

Medium is steady as she goes.

$18.50. Are you fucking kidding me? A rip off. The cigar is no better than a mild and tasteless Macanudo.

The industry reviewers should have put a stake through Herklots heart. Two of my sponsors carry this cigar and I’m sorry to not have a positive effect on their sales but like Sammy Davis Jr. sang, “I gotta be me.” One of my dad’s friends knew the man and he came to my Bar Mitzvah in 1963. He didn’t hang out. Just made the rounds making people feel good…sang one song with the band and split. As it was 60 years ago, the only thing I remember distinctly was the gorgeous woman at his side.

The burn is shameful. At nearly $20 with tax, this is unacceptable. The blend is linear to the max. Zero depth and no signs of a rich tobacco experience.

Transitions are tragically killed dead in their steps. The finish is just OK.

I am not happy that the cigar is a slow burn. I will stop writing and listen to music and let the Canadian wildfire smoke burn my throat and sting my eyes. Back soon to read the funereal psalm.
I’ll get through the second half and report.

I’m back.
If you want a great $6 stick, this is your baby.
