From Sinistro Cigars:
“Mr. Desflorado, named after its Connecticut Desflorado wrapper, involves a precise and rare procedure implemented during the blooming phase of the tobacco plant. In this distinctive process, the uppermost pink flowers of the plant are deliberately removed prior to seed formation. The outcome of this technique is twofold: it deepens the shade of the leaf’s hue and infuses it with a significantly sweeter taste profile. Complementing this wrapper, is the addition of an African Cameroon binder along with carefully selected fillers sourced from Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Colombia. This harmonious combination of elements results in a symphony of flavors that tantalizes the palate.”
THE WHOLE MEGILLAH:
I’ve reviewed several Sinistro releases since 2019: Sinistro Honor Among Thieves 2020 (96), Sinistro Last Cowboy Maduro Scala LE 2019 (94), Sinistro Cigars Mr. Candela 2020 (94), Sinistro Mr. Red 2020 (95), & NV Edition Lancero LCC Exclusive 2023 (95). I had no idea I loved their cigars this much. When I count to three and snap my fingers I will awaken and remember nothing.
The wrapper is very delicate as you can see in my photos. I dinged each of my cigars with my fingernails. Maybe claws are not a good look for me.
The cigar needs a little help from my PerfecDraw. Unfortunately, over the last few months, my PD has been binging and purging. The tool is weak. And thin. I smell puke. I grab its fatty boy brother who is juiced up on steroids. It works just fine, but its penis is very tiny.
Banana-fanna start. Not spectacular but not without some identity to profile. Very mild. Not my cup of tea. I need some oomph. So hard to discern which blends need two years of naked humidor time and which ones you toss. Oh, the piles.
The wrapper is uber fragile. It’s like holding your dick after your girlfriend set it on fire. You gotta be careful.
If I used the first inch rule, the cigar would slink away in shame. I shall be patient.
It says medium but it is oh so mild. I repeat myself under stress, I repeat myself…
At 3 months, the blend should be chockfull of blender’s intent. I hope not.
Creamy, slight spiciness, Roseanne Roseannadanna, banana, and cedar. My theory is it ain’t no big thang to blend a mild cigar. It is a big thang to get it right. I thought the cigar would be much better.
Casdagli Cigars can nail mild/medium in the first puffs. Examples: Brothers of the Sabre Brave, D’Boiss DB60, Mareva…actually, a fair to middlin number of their blends are in this range. You can read my Casdagli reviews here.
Sinistro has made some great cigars. This ain’t one of them.
I have blisters on me fingers and scabs on my dork finder.
Slow improvement. Oh so slow.
Construction is very good with a crisp burn. So, there’s that.
I took some ketamine and watched Barbie. It is a movie for heterosexual teenage girls…and gay guys of all ages. Two hours I’ll never get back.
2” burned. 30 minutes. A 90-minute slog to the end.
Every good boutique cigar company can have a misstep.
The press release says the palate will be tantalized. Its redemption at this point is to see if the halfway point picks up the pieces. This might signal that the cigar needs a whole lotta more humidor time than I gave it. HW’s Minato told me cigar blenders should put humi time needed right on the cello. If not, all’s fair in the reviewing process. Not a bad idea.
But I’m not sure cigar companies have the slightest idea of when a cigar will blossom, if at all. A roil of the dice that puts the onus on the consumer.
No info available if this cigar is regular production or a limited release. If it was designed to be out there forever, Sinistro might want to re-think this. Another brick in the wall.
Still creamy after all these years. Added touch of lemon spark. Mild, very mild black pepper. The cigar needs the oomph of some death-defying spiciness. It has no balls. It needs some balls…some depth, at least.

The second half is better. Oomph arrives in a pumpkin. Cinnamon helps…sips of water don’t.
Time out. My dear, but dead, friend Tim had a gorgeous girlfriend. One night we played strip spin the bottle along with Marci’s best girl. Tim kept losing until he was stark naked. He sat on his haunches with his wee wee tucked under. Looked like a Ken doll. Speed ahead…I won. 20 minutes later Marci and I exited the bedroom only to find Tim and the other girl sitting on opposite ends of the couch. Tim didn’t score. We never spoke of this again.
I’ve met only a few people who said that music plays no part in their lives. And they were all arrogant like it was beneath them. Serial killers in training all.
This ain’t a good cigar. I want it to be because Sinistro has a stunning rep. Stepped on their dicks with Mr. Desflorado. The leaf stats scream success and passion. Smoking it screams limp away Mr. Chips. Too bad.
Strength is barely medium.
Check out other Sinistro blends. They are wonderful.
OK. Time marches on. I’m outta here…
