THE WHOLE MEGILLAH:
Alrighty then. A $40 cigar. Could not afford a fiver. But I bought two. My hands are shaking as I hold this love snausage.

The cigar is plugged. What do I do. I carefully insert my PerfecDraw. I hear shrieks. Sammy the Cat pounces thinking it is a rat. But my PD would never rat. It is Sicilian and its family is in the old country. I hear snapping fingers as Sammy puts down his zip gun.

I’m curious about the burn forthwith. The first puffs show promise. I checked out the only review I could find. This cigar did not bear witness. Lousy burn and just didn’t taste great.

My first impression is richness abounds. But can it sustain. Medium strength is immediate with notes of creaminess and black pepper. Some cinnamon and hickory.

And the cigar goes out.

Is 3 months enough time for a review. I have no idea. It is just a spin of the wheel. And to be perfectly honest, the ‘when’ I choose is no more than a whim on my part.

10 minutes and an inch in, the cigar is not taking off. I love Casdagli everything all at once. By now, I’d be swimming in blender’s talent. I would be swooning and declaring I will have all of Jeremy’s babies if he found me attractive.

I bought some AB Fine and Rare 2023. I smoked one. Neither fine nor rare. Maybe time will fix that. It won’t fix the $26 price tag. That’s a lot of dough for us spoiled Americans. Again, the nice thing about Casdagli cigars is consistency. My buttocks never clinches when I purchase any of his blends. Never. I just bought a wonderful 6 count Daughters of the Wind 2022 sampler from SBC. $24 per stick. After promo code, $21.60. Fucking worth every shekel. I will let them rest for 3-4 months and then the yellow brick road will unfold. Plus, it is a very sexy looking bunch of cigars. Luxury Cigar Club has a wonderful supply as well.

The burn is a shit show.

The richness quality has peeled away leaving a mundane smoke.

You don’t get to where you’re at unless you have something to prove to somebody who didn’t listen to you.

Maybe a year of humi time will fix this blend. But after 3 months, why do Casdagli cigars shine and this baby shows zero promise. Why. Dunno.

Irrelevance. It haunts us all.

I loved how Foundation worked to make the Highclere Castle blends great smokes. I dug the Tabernacle in 2016. Same goes for the El Güegüense in 2015. Ditto for the Olmec Maduro this year. I haven’t smoked the widely lauded Metapa yet.

I’m killing time and I hate that. Stasis. No forward momentum. Linear. Damn. A cigar like this just drains me.

Flavors are non-descript. HW was actually very kind. I’m not. I get their reference to this cigar being a long haul of mediocrity. If the cigar doesn’t show serious improvement in the second half, I’m done.

On the upside, the cigar is so strong that I can barely type. Good times.

So, my girlfriend was giving me a please let’s make up BJ on a hiking trail in Palm Springs. I looked up because I heard rustling noises and saw a large group of hikers watching us from another trail 10 feet above us. No happy ending for Philly.

‘Old Man.’ Neil Young. Ha.

Hell yeah, I consider price when I review a cigar. Is that wrong. What do you expect from a $40 cigar. Just OK. No question mark.

I must have a ferret story. Nicotine has clogged my brain.

This is not a good cigar. Even when smoking a stick too early, there are hints. The blender’s intent is foggy and confusing. There is enough aging that it should be sending a message. The cigar was released a few months ago. And it is still for sale with only 700 boxes in circulation. This will be an annual release. Mellilo should go back and tweak. I’m not a fan of Broadleaf wrappers.

This is it. I’m done. The cigar is going nowhere fast. No need to punish myself. A bum cigar makes for lousy writing.

Spend your time and dough with a good Casdagli instead. They never miss.

Happy New Year, my friends…health and happiness to you and your families in 2024.

Foundation cigars can be purchased from sponsors Small Batch Cigar (10% off with promo code ‘katman, Luxury Cigar Club (15% off with promo code ‘katman’), and Cigar Page.

Atlantic Cigar doesn’t like the way I write. They won’t be joining us for 2024.
