My cigars have received 3 months of naked humidor time.

THE WHOLE MEGILLAH:
I dunced the Foundation Cigar Co. Tabernacle Knight Commander as my last review of 2023. It seemed only fair to be even and conjugal with a follow up Foundation.

There are Habano and Claro blends available. But as far as release numbers…well, ‘regional batches’ is as much as Foundation will divulge.

I liked the first half of the Habano but then it dissolved into mediocrity.

The pigtail looks like a National Geographic nipple. It’s good to be 13.

The cigar needs a little tush push to clear its airway. I hear labored breathing. It’s not me. My PerfecDraw just finished three sets of chin ups. It waves me off. I grab the little douche nozzle and put it to work. One swoosh, the path is clear, and the cigar is ready to smoke. I cover the PD’s head with a plastic bag to muffle its moans. Time to get a younger PD tool.

Great start. Really. So tasty. Exactly how the Habano started, but then failed.
Chocolate, malt, caramel, nutty, black pepper, salty peanut shells, and creaminess. Nothing revolutionary to look at here but lovely, nonetheless.

Tom Petty station this morning. Good variety of classic rock, not crapola. Of course, the term classic rock is all about your age. Means something different to everyone.

One of these days, a blender will negate the long, overblown, romantic and poetic backstory of why he decided to produce a specific blend and just say the cigar name is unintentional and random…an epiphany is OK. And leave the pile of bullshit to people more aptly schooled…like cigar reviewers. If Ford acted like cigar companies, the Mustang would have been called The Winged Horse That Reminds Me of Going Fast While My Nuts Are Crushed.

Strength quickly attains medium/full status. No fucking around.

Such a wonderful balance of Sweet v. Savory. Today is capitalization day. Tomorrow never knows.

If the Metapa-banna Fo-fanna can keep this up, the conclusion will be I should have reviewed it sooner in order to make my top 32 list of 2023. Who cares.

The burn is Mr. Slugworth-wonkified, Torch to foot corrects all means of error.

The Metapa-Rosanadanna is becoming a good cigar. Lots of character. Very rich in its haunches. Good lines along its axis. And plenty of interest emanating from my incredible shrinking brain. Pretty good after just an inch of burn-ee-ocity. 15 minutes.

I wish the char line would heal. But any box press can show distress over the slightest humidification change. More folks should discuss the angst-ridden job of keeping one’s humidor(s) humidified consistently. Have you seen those hygrometer/phone apps that allow you to see what your humidity level is. I don’t get it. Instead of having a panic attack at home, you get to have one where you can’t do anything about it.

Nice even progress. Complexity is approaching average. And the cigar goes out. Check humidity. I do so without the help of an app. Dr. Rod loves The Eagles. I side with The Dude.

Poor Skip. Imagine. Drive Stark Naked & The Car Thieves’ band gear lorry 125 miles from London to Nottingham. Never driven in England. Steering wheel on the wrong side of the car. On the wrong side of the road. Imagine harder…no idea how to manual shift and you gotta shift with your left hand. At night. For £15. No wonder Skip is dead. Kidding. No. He’s dead.

I’ve mentioned, in the past, that 2 members of Curved Air are dead. I spaced. It’s 3. Mick Jaques. Once a couple dozen friends are gone, it’s hard to keep track.

I really like the creamy chocolaty essence, Mandrake. ‘A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly, without any choice. That’s the way your hard-core Commie works.’

As I near the halfway point, the cigar’s complexity levels out. Is it stasis. Dunno. Ferret time. And the cigar goes out.

Keep the core. Change the fringe. Constant re-evaluation and re-assessment. Stasis will kill you.

The Metapa-LivaSnap had a fighting chance. And then like the Habano, same as it ever was, there is nothing. I swear that the start made me think of Casdagli. Rich overtones. Harmony. Now it is limping like Ian Ziering. A bike tire to the balls is not as much fun as one imagines.

Why are all the guys in AC/DC midgets.

Strength hits full tilt.

The Metapa shows just enough promise that I believe another 6 months of humi time might cure its ailing wails. Is the cigar worth a purchase. I think so. Of course, my sponsors have the Habano and the Claro, but not the Maduro.

The blend sticks it with its chocolate creaminess, its nuttiness, the lovely malt, some dried fruit sweetness, a touch of maple candy, and a nice level of spiciness. I found only one review. I’m guessing everyone is waiting for this blend’s potential to see daylight.

This is Foundation’s first use of a Sumatra wrapper. It is so close.

The last couple inches show improvement. The blender’s intent is obvious. Give the cigar a wide berth upon receipt and let it sleep for 6-9 months.

My grandsons’ godfather was shot yesterday in the line of duty. He will survive. I wish him all the best and a speedy recovery. Domestic abuse calls are the most dangerous.
