My cigars have received 3 months of naked humidor time.
BACKGROUND:
“Definition has collaborated with Luciano Mierelles of Luciano Cigars for a cigar, unlike anything on the brand’s roster. Genesis uses a Hybrid Ecuadorian Broadleaf wrapper, a Mexican San Andres binder that brings strength and flavor to the blend. Finished off with all Nicaraguan fillers from Ometepe, Condega, Pueblo Nueva, and a varietal called Chincagre, a tobacco native to Nicaragua and not often used. Genesis is a well-received addition to Definitions portfolio that brings ample tasting notes of cinnamon, earth, cedar, and an alluring sweetness when exhaling.”
THE WHOLE MEGILLAH:
A slight plug. If you want your cigars to live a non-violent and pacifist existence, then the PerfecDraw is right for you. But wait, there’s more…order now and Dr. Rod will throw in a free set of animal tranquilizers that will ferret out all your manic-depressive moods. Act now. What are you waiting for. Do you have an excess of animal tranques that it may sicken and so die. Shakespeare. There are only 17 PD’s left. Wait and you will need your Uncle Harrybush’s needle dick to fix your cigars from this point forward.
I like how the cigar starts…notes of creamy chocolate en masse, nuts galore, malt, black pepper, cinnamon, and a maple sweetness.
Well rounded is hard to define as the term is very subjective. But well rounded is what I taste. It circles my mouth like a centrifugal bee. I don’t know what that means but it sounded right when I thought of it. First impressions of a cigar are indeed inexplicable. I will try to stick to two syllable words from this point hence. I get a headache if I don’t.
I’m listening to Steely Dan. Loved that band. Their music stands up to time.
Construction is solid. The char line is sharp enough to cut your wrists when you despair. That’s dark. I’ll seek help.
I see old timer musicians on the telly that were in bands in the 60’s and think they are posh for something that happened a million years ago. It doesn’t make you special…it just gives you some stories to tell that no one wants to hear.
Cinnabon. I crave a Cinnabon because the cigar tells me to. Creamy cinnamon icing on a fudge brownie. This is what Genesis tastes like. No shit. This isn’t a flavor that is elusive…or an opinion. This is a fact, Jack. Every smoker will perceive this element without any squinting of the buttocks. Blink.
Babylon Sisters. Dang me.
Seth MacFarlane can do no wrong. I’d let him blow me for free.
I’m an inch into the cigar. Complex. Rich Little. Lovely nuances and subtleties that range from the creamy cinnamon-y chocolate to a spicy Bloody Mary. I taste vegetal notes that remind me of tomato and celery. A first, for sure.
I like this cigar a lot. Smooth and deluxe. I’d swear it had heavily aged Dominican leaves, but it don’t. This was all done with Nic, Mexican, and Ecuadorian leaves. Incredible.
And yes, the overwhelming opinion is I’m smoking a cigar with extended aging. Dang me eight to the bar.
If only 3 months of humi times provides this lovely of an experience, imagine what 9 months will do. I’m convinced at this early stage. My finger is on the trigger to get more for meself.
I’m all for as many cigar reviewers as possible. Each reviewer finds his own niche audience. This expands the number of smokers getting some valuable info. Why not.
Strength has been medium at 2” burned. 35 minutes.
Creamy chocolate sprinkled with cinnamon. Absolutely the perfect amount of spiciness. The vegetal flavor is extraordinary…which provides a precise savory v. sweet mix.
And now we have medium/full. The second half is officially down.
More baking notes…nutmeg, carraway seeds, brioche, lemon bars, and pretzel. A remarkably diverse and unusual blend.
Bodhisattva. Swingin’.
We are getting our first snow blizzard of the season today and tomorrow. And then frigid ahead with the week looking at -30 wind chill. I won’t be reviewing. Frozen nuts are not on the menu. Not enough air purifiers on the planet.
Strength is upped. Swooning like a 16 year old girl at her first prom.
The teetering balance of sweet factors that never becomes treacly. In fact, they carry a nice savory quality. This is impressive blending. I do suggest you hold off as long as possible before exposing these cigars to the wild. They wreak of loving their time in captivity.
The last couple of inches are duly sworn in as the sweet spot sheriff. Super deluxe. I’m loving it. Great fucking cigar. I’m convinced that Definition knows what it is doing. I want to try their other blends. LCC says that the company is ‘maduro forward.’ I like my maduro cigars. Potent and sweet.
I pulled the trigger and bought a 20 count box of 6 x 54 box pressed perfectos called The Equalizer. Full strength Nic puro maduro blend that seems to be right up my alley. For a tad more than $10, it becomes emergent that Definition blends are a steal. After using the katman promo code, the Equalizer sticks were only $9 each. They appear to be running under the radar at this point. Time to pounce.
I’m nubbing the Genesis. Smooth tushy right to the end. Love when this happens.
This was a very pleasurable 90 minutes. The nod is given.
