My cigars received 4 months of naked humidor time.

BACKGGROUND:
From Luxury Cigar Club:
“Henk Cigars was created by Heiko Poerz, an avid aficionado for over 40 years backed by 18 years in the industry. He decided to create his own cigar using all Nicaraguan tobacco, seeking out the help of AJ Fernandez and Didier Houvenaghel to create it.

“Henk is well known for its ultra-premium performance, along with their eye-catching laser engraved “bands”.

“Henk Maori is a European brand. Luxury Cigar Club is the only brand to carry these bad boys stateside!

“Henk Maori is available in extremely small quantities and are all aged until perfection. Our current stock was rolled in 2020, they won’t be around long!”

THE WHOLE MEGILLAH:
First thing, this is a nicely aged stick. They are delivered without a cello. Breathing is a good thing and these cigars have not been confined to a cellophane iron lung in the 3+ years since rolled.

Aromas slap me in the puss like I’ve been challenged to a duel. Notes of strong tobacco, heavy on the nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamon are decisively upfront. The minor aromas are chocolate, mint, and honey.

I merely twist off the pigtail and the tiny hole allows for the perfect draw. My PerfecPunch limps away…because it is missing appendages.

Wow. An immediate punch to the palate. Holy shit. Instant depth, complexity, and rich flavors of honey, milk chocolate, extreme creaminess, the perfect dose of black pepper, and sweet brioche bread like the Henk Maori site describes.

Strength is medium.

Now this is a gentleman’s cigar. Sophisticated to the point that it decides to not take Jennifer Aniston’s calls.

A total dream-like haze envelops my shrinking brain pan.

The cigar comes in 5 sizes. As Luxury Cigar Club is the only store in America where you can purchase them. These are not cheap cigars.

Construction is immaculate as the burn is cotton pickin’ slow. The char line is dead nuts perfect.

This is a blend that forces you to savor every puff. No messin’ around.

No need for a sophisticated palate. If you just know what you like without all the fol de rol of picking out flavors, you will love this cigar long time. A perfect newbie cigar for those adventurous types.

No idea how long it will take to smoke a 3-1/2” cigar. But it took 16 minutes to smoke half an inch.

This is a major treat that I was not expecting…or ready for.

Worth every dime of its $20 price point. Unless the cigar trips up, I plan on being more than benevolent in its final rating.

I will be nubbing it with my PerfecDraw tool. I don’t own a pipe. Well, not a tobacco pipe. Otherwise, I’d throw it in and finish it off till it is nothing but an afterthought.

Strong richness that goes on and on. Smooth as Ronald Reagan’s ass.

My first sip of water and I’m kvelling.

The honey and creaminess were made for each other. The matchup is just so outstanding.

The brioche is slathered in sweet butter. The baking spices are the backstop that creates a perfect balance of Sweet v. Savory.

1-1/4” burned. 25 minutes.

I really don’t want this experience to end. I’m friggin ruined for the rest of my cigar smoking day.

I allow the cigar to rest in the ashtray for minutes. The finish is a long stretch of highway on Route 66. An endless horizon that never gets closer. I’m doggie lip smacking like an idiot as every movement of my tongue captures the intense flavor profile.

LCC is only selling these cigars, in two sizes, by the single. Man, if you don’t try at least a couple, you’re going to miss out big time.

It doesn’t matter how long the cigar sits; it doesn’t need a re-light.

A tsunami-like sweet spot hits land.

Strength moves on up to medium/full.

No flavors added. Canonized notes described.

The complexity is through the roof. The intensity of flavors, richness, and depth nearly makes me laugh out loud…and you know I hate laughing.

Chocolate, honey, creaminess, baking spices, brioche bread…they stand tall.

This is a perfect blend. My palate is going Bozo crazy. Cigars don’t get better than this.

The sweet spot continues its climb to Mount Everest. It never gets winded or loses strength.

2” burned. 45 minutes. I surely thought this would be a quick smoke. I won’t be fooled again.

My PerfecDraw tool comes out and nubbing begins.

I’m listening to the “Ronnie Earl” station on Amazon Music. Kicking back and listening to great blues artists. This cigar has elevated my consciousness. I see dancing hippos in tutus.

Every sip of water causes explosions. My merkin is twirling like the Tea Cup ride at Disneyland.

Final smoke time is 75 minutes.
