Avowed The Vow Higher Calling landed at Small Batch Cigar.
I reviewed a pre-release with 2 months of naked humidor time and rated it 97.

The Morning After:
I woke up. Always a good sign. I drank my caffeine in coffee form. I lit up a Higher Calling. Damn, Louise! This is a bloody brilliant cigar. No shit, my evolutional Sherlocks. The subtleties are off the chart…and so tasty too. Snag some Vitameatavegimen encapsulated in the Higher Calling. I’m upping my 97 rating to 99. A perfect cigar in my book. Look at that burn:

I smoked the last Casdagli in my humidors a couple of days ago – tired of the construction problems. I have only had a few Avowed from the sampler pack, but they seem to be a worthy replacement for the genre. Looking forward to trying the Higher Calling. Turn, turn, turn.

Hi Jeff,
I don’t know what is going on with Casdagli. I’ve had to toss every Daughters of the Wind for these reasons: 1) Excessive amount of roller’s glue used to repair the wrapper, 2) Each one has been plugged so badly that even my PerfecDraw could not rectify the issue, 3) Wrappers crack. First at the cap and then it moves down the shaft.
SBC has done a fine job with the Ecuadorian and Dominican mix. I can easily smoke the four different blends from Avowed on a daily basis. They’re not cheap but they perform beautifully each time. Consistency, or lack thereof, can make or break a line of cigars.
To everything there is a season…and a purpose under heaven,
Phil
