Don’t Miss This Saka Deal: Dunbarton #GFY Lancero Collection | Cigar Reviews by the Katman

I bought this sampler of mysterious blends because I love Saka. I love doughnuts too but Saka, more.

10 Lanceros (7 x 38) with the moniker of GFY. It is no secret that Saka thinks that the skinny format is for chumps. Albeit, being a fave of the bourgeois rich and famous. Why the dissotomy? Because for one, it is nearly impossible to construct the cigars with goodies without destroying the draw. And two, it is extremely difficult to truly nail a superfine leafy grandiosity in this miniscule delivery system.

Saka feels that the Lonsdale size of 6 x 44 is a better system for the blender’s intent.

Take a gander at my photo of the underside of the box which contains a mini manifesto from Steve Saka:

So why am I writing about this? Because I’ve thrown myself into the deep morass of getting two off into the ether and I loved both long time.
This is a limited release. Who knows how long they will be for sale…certainly, my advice will increase sales because most of you trust me. That’s a fact, Jack.

Construction on my first twists was immaculate without preconception. Both sticks had a perfect draw which sent my PerfecDraw into a deep depression. Since I noticed a second PD tool next to it, I must assume it is postpartum.

Look at the photo below and you will see stamped on the underside of the box, the date: May 2024. That’s right. The cigars have at least 14 months of box aging. They are ready to smoke like most Dunbarton cigars.

At $16 each, certainly not a budget box of 10. But after promo codes, the price drops down to $144. A fair and reasonable amount for high premium cigars from a true master.

I’d review a couple but then what’s the point? Delicious is delicious.

  1. What to do, what to do? I would love to jump on these as I am def a small ring gauge and Saka fan, but I’m saving my cheddar for the Katman blend. Which will likely sell out before I can get them. First world problems.

I actually agree w Saka in that I love Lonsdales even more than Lanceros but 6x44s seem to be even harder to find than 7x38s!

  2. I rather like Lanceros/Panetelas. Then again…I’m with Papa; a Corona Gorda or Lonsdale is my fav. What I don’t understand are the popularity of Gordos these days. I guess ‘Merica, and all that bigger is better shite, but…having that dangling in my mouth. It’s just like a Telefunken U-47!
