Good afternoon Phil,
I broke down 2 days after my bundle arrived and smoked one of my cigars. It was fantastic. Another week of aging and I will do another on. I’m sure that long aging process will only make it better===LOL. The cigar was so great I hope you gents will do another run
Thank You Very Much for all your great reviews

Dear Katman, I have purchased a 10 pack of your cigars and await arrival. In the past, I have felt we were on the same team. We spend our hard earned money in hope of that hour and a half of pleasure only a tubular shaped bunch of old leaves can give. Now I give you my money in hope, they better be worth it! If they’re not, I won’t cover the eyes of your sticker (if I had one) when I touch myself (please send sticker).
Haha, just busting balls a bit. Looking forward to resting them naked and lighting one up in a few months, no matter what I think of them. Happy to support the cause, especially from the reviewer I’ve learned the most about cigars from. Hope this makes an old man happy. Congrats!

Thank you for your support. To be clear, you are donating your money to me, Paul, and SBC.
I hope that you enjoy the cigars which are priced reasonably compared almost all other new boutique releases.

Phil,
Congratulations on completing this project! At some point, it would be interesting to hear your perspective of what it’s like to be a cigar blender/ manufacturer as opposed to a cigar smoker. I look forward to smoking these after the Katman mandatory 3 month sleep completes.

BAM! Snagged my 10 pack. Now I guess I need to let them sit in my humidor for a few months before we can smoke them. I guess I’ll have to smoke all the other Stulacs while I wait. Ugh….I have no patience!
LikeLike
Fortunately for us with little patience, Stulacs are great without a ton of rest. I’m going to let mine rest from their travels for about a month and then fire one up. If it’s too soon, I still have nine more!! CHEERS!

I’m glad you were able to get some, Kellie.

Hi Rob,

Congratulations 🍾🎉 on your joint blend adventure! Very exciting! Ordered mine yesterday night and I am truly looking forward to smoking them. This leads me to ask, how long should they rest?

Hi Kevin,
I’d light one up on receipt because patience is not a word in our vocabulary. After that, a couple months should do it. Longer if you want to reap the whirlwind.
Thanks for your comment,

Phil, cheers on getting this cigar done! I bought a bundle – I’m sure I’ll smoke one way too soon. As the old saying goes “curiosity killed the cat,- but satisfaction brought him back!”. Looking forward to the kohnhed’s commments as these get loose in the wild.

Hi Jeff,
Thank you.
I haven’t decided whether I will review this brilliant Stulac/Katman cigar. It seems self serving if I give the blend a stellar rating.
I gotta think about this. Big smile.

I’m predicting this conversation: Stulac to Katman to Small Batch:
“We underestimated this opportunity. We could have sold a lot more cigars. Shall we do another production run of this blend again or go for something different.?

Seems the Schmaltzy Sinatra posting down? Anyway, smoked one of these bad boys, it was delicious. Espresso and dark chocolate right down to the nub. Wish there was a cigar band for me to tape to my little cigar review notebook, hopefully next time, something like a bass guitar pick or a big ‘fro.

Why have you deleted almost all references to IGM Cigars from your website?

I certainly can’t speak for the author of this blog, but I have done some business with IGM. In dealing with IGM, I have found that relations with customer service are often erratic and unpredictable. I have spoken with their representatives by phone and via email and have been frustrated that the answer I get from one IGM representative is different from another. For a time, they described a cigar they craft as having Cuban filler. I enjoyed the cigar, but was aware that at any time, cigars with, in fact, Cuban filler could be impounded by U.S. Customs. Later, the filler was described as undisclosed, but I’m usually apprehensive about any cigar whose components are described as proprietary, undisclosed, even secret. If I were writing a cigar blog, I might smoke some habanos, but would not assume an advocacy position to import cigars that may be currently illegal.
Just my two scents and they may be odoriferous.

Dear Mr. Kohn, Stulac and Considine:
a present I’m sitting on my deck in the shade, enjoying my first of your cigars. It is a lovely morning with a great couple of black coffee and some ice water and your new cigar is making it an even more lovely morning. I am reveling in the thick, juicy, and chewy smoke from this beautiful stick. The mouth feel and the flavors are so full that they wrap around my tongue and almost make me smack my lips 😊I will not attempt to break it down like the Katman does all I can say is this is a great cigar and I’m so glad I bought two bundles. I am excited at the prospect of aging them over the long run and enjoying one every couple of months. I think the three of you represent all that is the best in our little cigar smoking universe.

Paul is currently in a home for the criminally productive. I sent your kind words along to him. After the guard reads it, he will probably pass it on to Paul.
