Instead of waxing poetically about the enormous fun/boner/angst caused by compiling what I felt were the best cigars this year, I’ll let the list do the talking.

I love that the Generción V made the list. It’s my favorite cigar of all time, just a beautiful stick. Also, still waiting for my Janet Jackson Katman poster.

I would love to hear about your humidor(s) and technique – do you mix and match brands, do you take off the cellophane, do you have a large humidor where you keep the cigars in their box
Any help would be great
thanks again

Spot on, Phil… great list! I have to explore the Felipe Gregorio sticks now. Once again it’s time to pull out the old wallet. 💰

Great to see a Paul Stulac cigar just squeak the list! I know it would have been self-serving to put the Blue Lightning Sky on the list, but at least for me, it was one of the finest cigars I’ve smoked this year! Thanks so much for that one, and I’m SO excited that it will be one of his regular production cigars!

In the past, reviewers would sometimes offer up a list of best budget blends. It’s exhausting to compile two or more top 25 lists by doubling up the number of reviews to include budget brands. When others took this task on, it was usually by websites that had a team of contributors. But keep in mind, the real issue lies with the cigar industry when they decided, after Covid, to force the price of cigars into the stratosphere. There is no such thing as a real budget cigar. Tell someone that you spent $10 on ONE cigar and watch their reaction. I never tell anyone that I might spend an average of $15-$25 per stick. I’m too old to duck and cover.
I compiled a 2014 Top 25 list that you might find satisfactory.
Thanks for your comment,
Phil

You have a superior palate (which happens to align with mine). Ha. I always look forward to your ‘best of’ lists. Invariably I find one or two cigars that are new to me and if I can find them, I am sure to enjoy. I am surprised that there isn’t a Casdagli on the list this year. You helped me discover them. Glad you are hanging in for another year!!
