This is as about low tech as it comes.
I’m asked all the time to bring something to the table that isn’t me playing with Curved Air.
This is it. One minute and 20 seconds.
In 1980, Gary Gladstone asked my band to record a song he wrote. We said OK. This was strictly for demo purposes. He had every band he knew record their version.
Gary wanted a strong bass solo. So, I gave it my best.
The solo was not an overdub. I played it live.
Now here’s the usual excuses a musician makes…a good friend was supposed to make me a digital copy. He’s been making excuses for a month.
I grabbed my $50 boom box and used my iPhone to record it. I am so ashamed.
If you listen without ear buds, it will sound like shit.
If you listen with ear buds, the shit will be less.
If it sounds horrible, let me know and I will delete it.
I have a library of me playing with bands over the years. I plan on getting a Bluetooth cassette player, so this doesn’t happen again. Stay tuned…
