La Palina 1896 Gold.
I bought these on sale a few weeks ago. First, check out the leaf stats:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Binder: Costa Rican
Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan
Size: 5.5 x 52 Robusto
Strength: Medium
Price: $10.00
I lit one up this lazy Sunday morning. And just wow…fucking wow.
Smooth and creamy buttery goodness. Powerful body but only medium in strength.
Cigar Page has them on sale for only $5.00 in fivers.
Or only $2.75 each in a bundle of 20. Actually, you get 4 fivers.
This is a no brainer. Construction is excellent. The draw is open and easy. Flavors are immediate. No waiting on the first inch to kick in.
The price is the same whether you are a Page Plus member or a guy wandering the streets asking for a light.
I bought two 20-count bundles this morning. I can’t stand to be disappointed with my first cigar of the day. The La Palina 1896 Gold delivers.
The cigar comes in 4 sizes: Robusto (5.5 x 52), Toro (6 x 50 box pressed), Gordo (6 x 60), and Churchill (6.5 x 48).

Bought one 20 count bundle a few weeks ago as well on your recommendation.Haven’t lit one up yet as I was rolling with the “let em sleep” recommendation you normally put forth.Am I to take from this that it perhaps is not needed with these?

Hi Mark,
Normally, I’d say let them rest for a couple months.
Currently, my morning cigar is the West Tampa Circle of Life. But I threw caution to the wind and lit this baby up.
While the blend will most probably excel with extended rest, it met my needs with less than a month of rest.
Go for it.

Got it. I’ll have to give one a roll and then let the lot of them rest. Just lit up an Angelenos Edition Limitada for my morning cigar. I’ll have to try The West Tampa Circle of Life for a morning smoke!
