  1. Love the way you presented this. Great photos – after all, part of the enjoyment of cigar smoking is using all your senses, including visual. Nice to have the link to your review on each one. Good job Uncle Phil.

  2. Kartman Do….. put together a nice list. Always causes me to want to try some on the list that are new to me.
The Highclere Castle Victorian has been a favorite.

Happy Holidays to one of the most creative and entertaining writers on the internets!!!

    • I believe that’s interwebs.
Thanks Arless for not treating me like the homicidal maniac I am.
I tried to make sure that the great majority of the cigars on my list are still available for sale.
It irritates me to read a list that 50%-75% of the sticks are long gone. And I didn’t get a chance to smoke one.
I truly appreciate the wonderful things you said about me…(How’s AA coming?).
      Be well, brother…
      Phil

  3. I always look forward to this list. It’s fun reading your reviews throughout the year and taking a stab at which ones will make your top 25. I guessed most of these, but you never know what the order will be. My guess for #1 based on your reviews was the ReviveR. Close, but no cigar.. (terrible pun) Thanks for another year of great reading!!

    • Hey Darren,
      Thank you my friend.
One piece of criteria I use is how popular the review was.
The numbers can go from a couple thousand hits to near endless thousands of hits.
And how long the cigar stays in the public profile.
Readers tell me a lot by their interest.
      Still, decisions are difficult.
Sometimes I wonder what purpose reviewers serve…a bunch of strangers with their opinions.
A lot of good writers and smokers out there and no one agrees about anything.
It’s like an Easter egg hunt in December.
      All the best,
      Phil

  4. Great list. Although now there’s going to be a run on the Manzanita’s. 😦

LOL. Those truly do warrant the honor though. Right off the truck those are a great cigar, and they just get better. I’m right with you on the top five for sure. The only one I haven’t had is the super Corona. I’d better get on that one.

I hope you had a great Chanukah, and enjoy a Merry Christmas with us goy/gentile types. 😉

Happy New Year to boot if I fall off the grid. Be well Phil.

    V

    • Hey Gunner,
I’m sure that every reviewer hopes the reader is adventurous and tries the cigars that the reviewer likes.
It gives us all new interesting choices.
      Thank you, brother.
I wish your family a healthy and happy new year.
      Phil

  5. Hi Phil,
Interesting list and I was glad to see the Hiram and Solomon on there, as well as the HVC. I guess I will need to finally try a cigar by Isabella and the Aging Room you picked. Thanks!

  6. Uncle Katman’s Best of the Year list is always a must read for any respectable cigar enthusiast. His palate is like a finely tuned instrument and his choices are never influenced by advertising money. He can’t be bought at any price! He can be cajoled on occasion to wear a thong and a Viking helmet to entertain the troops but that makes him a sexy patriot….what a showman.

    • Eric…when you say a finely tuned instrument…are you referring to my expertise on the Sweet Potato Ocarina?
      pcarina
You are correct. Cigar manufacturers cannot buy me…unless it’s a minimum of $5000. For that kind of dough I will give them any rating they choose. And they get 7 minutes with Charlotte…same as me.
      Thank you brother…
      Phil

  7. No worst of list?damn I look forward to that more than the best of! Great list katman

  8. What, no Perdomo? Just kidding… don’t hit me!

  9. I have six of from your list and love all six. The SD Manzanita and the CH Mil Dias were two I bought per your reviews. The remaining four I found through other venues and have purchased over the past 12 to 14 months by the box:

    Aging Room Rare Collection;
    H&S Grand Architect;
    Rojas Street Tacos;
    Aganorsa Leaf Rare Leaf Reserve.

Interesting that I love all of these and all show up on your top 25 list. Great palates and noses identify the same great cigars! Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah to you, my friend.

    • Hey Mark,
I believe smokers gravitate to the reviewers with palates most similar to theirs.
Plus, I don’t review obscure cigars that are a pain to find.
Even though I’ve been smoking forever, I have the everyman palate. Yes, I’m a snob to some degree…but then so are my readers.
      Thanks for your comment,
      Phil

  10. Many of my picks as well

  11. The Katman’s Best of the Year list is my third favorite event of the year; First, is Christmas. Second is when I have sex with my wife. And this, is third. Unless, the second event doesn’t happen in the next week in which case Katman’s List gets second place.

    There’s still hope, Katman!

    • Eric my friend…that is really fucked up.
I am going to send you two items.
The first is a strap on with my face on the end.
The second is a lifetime subscription to Good Housekeeping magazine. Helps with women’s priorities.
And third, is a photo of you leading a meeting with Al-Qaeda.
I just realized I said two items…send one back to me.
      Phil

  12. I ordered a box of your uno pick usingthe katman discount from SB which is my best life choice of 2021

  13. Holiday greetings Phil,

You 2021 list has led me to purchase several cigars that I haven’t tried yet. Among them are the Street Tacos, and HVC Broadleaf. I had already enjoyed the BAKA. Sometime ago I purchased the Perfect Draw which I needed to use on my Casa Casdagli today. You had also highlighted/recommended the Whiskey Rebellion Hamilton of which I have purchased multiple boxes. You are definitely an influencer my friend!!

    • Thanks Arless,
Truth be told, I never smoked a single cigar on my list.
Someone by the name of Beuwith Nimsky smoked those cigars; in fact, he smokes all the cigars I review and I just transcribe his notes to my blog.
      Let’s hear it for Beuwith…or as I call him…Beuwith.
I will tell my wife that she should listen to me because I am an influencer…and see how far that gets me.
      Phil
